14.30 | Further coarray features John Reid, WG5 Convenor In February 2008, several coarray feature were removed from the draft standard with the understanding that once the new standard was completed, they would be the subject of a Technical Specification (TS). In 2011, WG5 decided that while the overall size of the addition should not be increased, the choice of features should be reviewed. This choice, in the form of requirements, was made during the 2012 meeting, but was modified at the 2013 meeting. This talk will review the changes made in 2013, the most significant of which involves facilities to permit continued execution after the failure of an image, and decribe the full set of additional feature now proposed. A draft TS has been constructed and is visible as N1983 at the WG5 documents site. |
15.15 | Removing simple deficiencies in Fortran David Muxworthy, BSI Fortran Convenor It has been agreed that the next revision of the Fortran standard, sometimes called Fortran 2015, should be a simple consolidation into the main standard of agreed editorial improvements, corrigenda and the two Technical Specifications (on further operability with C and further coarray features), plus the removal of simple deficiencies in, and discrepancies between, existing facilities. The US and UK put forward a total of 27 proposals for this last group. At the most recent WG5 meeting about half of them were accepted for development. This talk describes those which will be in the next standard and summarizes those on which a decision was postponed until next year. |
